Great opportunity: core maker (England)

Join our team: we are hiring a core maker in Gloucestershire, England. The job is in the melting bay of a steel foundry. On a typical shift you will assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together; pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles; maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings; fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects. What we are looking for: • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Basic grinding and fettling skills £1,700 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
