Vacancy available: we are hiring an argon arc welder in Oneida County, New York. You will be based on a structural steel site. Day-to-day duties: • Back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise • Strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal • Read welding symbols and joint details off the fabrication drawing • Sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size • Clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding You should have: • Able to TIG weld stainless steel and aluminium to a neat standard • Able to pass a weld test on the spot • Can read fabrication drawings and welding symbols Pay around $3,500 per month, based on your experience.
