We are recruiting: we are hiring a furnace operator in Los Alamos County, New Mexico. The role involves fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges; cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch; make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity; pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles. Requirements: • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling At least 6 year(s) in a similar role. Full-time, day shift.
