Brick mason • Gillespie County, Texas

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a brick mason in Gillespie County, Texas. Day-to-day duties: • Cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder • Brushing the wall down and removing mortar snots as you go • Checking every course for height and level with a gauge rod • Pointing and repointing weathered mortar joints • Mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser • Setting out walls from the drawings and marking the brick gauge Ideal candidate: • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) • Able to lay to line, level and plumb consistently We offer $4,100 per month plus benefits.
