Great opportunity: we are hiring a tig welder in Erie County, New York. You will be based in a food and dairy equipment factory. The role involves: • Inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion • Grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper • Feed the filler rod by hand while controlling the weld puddle • Set the amperage on the machine and modulate the current with the foot pedal • Select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job • Carry out 6G pipe welds where required Requirements: • Able to read isometric and fabrication drawings • Comfortable working to tight fit-up tolerances • Able to weld thin-gauge sheet without burn-through Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough.
