Lift installation engineer • City of Charlottesville, Virginia

Vacancy available: we are hiring a lift installation engineer in City of Charlottesville, Virginia. The job is at a busy lift company. Day-to-day duties: • Measure rope tension and check for broken strands • Wire up the controller, encoder and limit switches • Mount and align landing doors, sills and car door operators • Adjust door operator timing and re-levelling accuracy • Install guide rails, brackets and counterweight frames in the hoistway • Replace worn sheaves, rollers, contactors and relays What we are looking for: • 2+ years on lift installation and maintenance • Sound electrical competence in three-phase and low-voltage wiring • Physically fit to lift heavy components and crawl in tight spaces Part-time with flexible hours.
