On a typical shift you will control distortion with a balanced welding sequence; weld in flat, horizontal and vertical-up positions; set the wire feed speed and voltage to suit the plate thickness; lay stringer and weave beads on fillet and butt joints. Requirements: • ITI in welder trade or equivalent • Able to read weld symbols and fabrication drawings • 2+ years on MIG/MAG (GMAW) welding Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough.
