Foundry operative • Borough of Bury, England

Vacancy available: we are hiring a foundry operative in Borough of Bury, England. The job is at a busy iron foundry. You will pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles; cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch; shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale; carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand; tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle. What we are looking for: • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry Pay around £2,050 per month, based on your experience.
