Great opportunity: tig welder (California)

Vacancy available: we are hiring a tig welder in Kings County, California. You will be based in a pipe-spool fabrication yard. You will weld in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions; inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion; back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring); select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job; weld stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel in thin gauges; grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper. Ideal candidate: • Comfortable working to tight fit-up tolerances • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day Six days a week, one day off. Overtime paid at a premium rate.
