Now hiring: we are hiring a sand plant operator in Oconto County, Wisconsin. You will work at a busy iron foundry. Requirements: • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts On a typical shift you will carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand; cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch; skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle; mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture; melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces.
