Immediate opening: we are hiring a stainless steel welder in Ballard County, Kentucky. What we are looking for: • Sound knowledge of shielding gases and tungsten selection • Own basic hand tools and PPE On the job you will handle: • Inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion • Feed the filler rod by hand while controlling the weld puddle • Control heat input so thin sheet does not warp • Grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper • Run root passes and fill passes on pipe joints • Strike and hold a stable arc with a non-consumable tungsten electrode Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough.
