Great opportunity: we are hiring an argon welder in Monona County, Iowa. The job is at a stainless steel fabrication shop. Requirements: • Steady hands and good close-up eyesight • Proven experience with TIG/GTAW on stainless and aluminium • Comfortable working to tight fit-up tolerances The role involves: • Inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion • Set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator • Grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper • Weld stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel in thin gauges 2+ years on the tools preferred. $18 per hour, negotiable for the right hands.
