We are recruiting: fire and safety officer (Alaska)

Great opportunity: we are hiring a fire and safety officer in Chugach Census Area, Alaska. You will be based in a chemical processing unit. Requirements: • Minimum 2-3 years on construction or factory sites • Valid first aid and basic firefighting training • Able to read and prepare RAMS and method statements Day-to-day duties: • Investigate near-misses and incidents and file root-cause reports • Take gas readings with a multi-gas detector before confined-space entry • Check PPE such as helmets, goggles, gloves and ear plugs and issue replacements • Audit housekeeping and barricading around excavations and open edges • Run fire drills and check extinguishers, hydrants and alarm points At least 2 year(s) in a similar role. Full-time with occasional weekends. Pay around $25 per hour, based on your experience. Walk-in interviews this week.
