Trainee butcher — Tuscaloosa County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a trainee butcher in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama. The job is at a halal meat counter. On the job you will handle: • Take customer orders and advise on cuts and cooking • Sharpen and hone knives on a steel and whetstone • Dress the chilled counter and rotate stock by date • Portion steaks, chops and cutlets to the ordered weights • Monitor chiller and freezer temperatures to keep the cold chain What we are looking for: • Knowledge of halal slaughter and handling where required • 2+ years experience working as a butcher 1+ years on the tools preferred.
