Stainless steel welder — City of Galax

Join our team: we are hiring a stainless steel welder in City of Galax, Virginia. The job is in a sheet-metal fabrication unit. You should have: • Good eyesight for fine sheet-metal work • Steady hand and good hand-eye coordination • Able to TIG weld stainless steel and aluminium to a neat standard Day-to-day duties: • Select AC for aluminium and DC for stainless and mild steel • TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer • Read welding symbols and joint details off the fabrication drawing • Grind, blend and polish finished welds to a clean finish • Back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise • Sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size On-the-job training and a clear path to grow.
