Now hiring: we are hiring a heavy equipment operator (dozer) in Manitowoc County, Wisconsin. The job is on a road construction project. Ideal candidate: • Comfortable working long shifts in dust, heat and uneven terrain • Proven experience operating crawler dozers (D6 to D8 class) The role involves: • Grade and level subgrade for roads, pads and platforms • Form embankments and batter slopes to the required angle • Rip hard ground and rock using the rear ripper shank • Carry out pre-start checks on tracks, hydraulics, coolant and engine oil • Follow GPS and laser grade control to hit design levels • Strip topsoil and stockpile it for later reuse Six days a week, one day off.
