Brick and block layer • Otsego County, Michigan

Great opportunity: we are hiring a brick and block layer in Otsego County, Michigan. The role involves pointing and repointing weathered mortar joints; installing damp-proof courses, lintels and cavity trays; buttering the perpends and tapping each brick down to the gauge; bedding in air bricks, weep holes and wall starters; cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder. Ideal candidate: • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) • Comfortable working at height on scaffolding Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough.
