Now hiring: we are hiring a ladle pourer in South Gloucestershire, England. The role involves skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together; tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle; fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity. Ideal candidate: • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards Six days a week, one day off.
