Great opportunity: we are hiring a steel erection rigger in Vernon Parish, Louisiana. Day-to-day duties: • Direct the crane operator with standard hand signals and radio • Read lift plans and method statements before starting • Calculate load weight and centre of gravity before every lift • Select the correct slings, shackles and chains for each load's weight • Inspect slings, shackles and eyebolts for wear, kinks and cracks before each use • Tag and quarantine any damaged or out-of-date rigging gear You should have: • Sound knowledge of working load limits and sling angles • Valid rigging / lifting certificate or banksman-slinger ticket • Ability to read lift plans and rigging diagrams Meals and transport allowance provided.
