Now hiring: pipe TIG welder (Michigan)

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a pipe TIG welder in Montmorency County, Michigan. You will work at a pipe-fitting and pressure-vessel shop. On a typical shift you will TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer; sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size; set the argon flow on the flowmeter and check the hose for leaks; grind, blend and polish finished welds to a clean finish; back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise; inspect welds visually for porosity, cracks and undercut. Requirements: • Comfortable working off scaffolds and in tight spaces • Aware of PPE, fume extraction and hot-work safety Full-time with occasional weekends.
