Requirements: • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day • Able to read isometric and fabrication drawings • Comfortable working to tight fit-up tolerances On a typical shift you will back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring); strike and hold a stable arc with a non-consumable tungsten electrode; select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job; run root passes and fill passes on pipe joints; read the WPS and weld to the specified parameters.
