Immediate opening: we are hiring a cement mason in Clayton County, Iowa. The job is at a precast concrete yard. Your main tasks: • Load, hoist and barrow concrete to the upper floors • Patch honeycombs and tie-rod holes with non-shrink grout • Screed and level slabs to the marked dead level and falls • Set out levels with a spirit level, line and pins • Strip and clean formwork once the concrete has gained strength • Carry out slump tests and cast cubes for the lab Requirements: • Physically fit for heavy lifting and long hours on your feet • ITI in masonry or civil work an added advantage • Sound knowledge of concrete grades, slump and curing periods Rotating shifts.
