Safety officer wanted in Howard County

Join our team: we are hiring a safety officer in Howard County, Iowa. You will be based at a manufacturing plant. Ideal candidate: • Clear spoken delivery for toolbox talks and inductions • Strong record-keeping and incident-reporting skills • Physically fit for full-site inspections on foot Your main tasks: • Inspect scaffolding, full-body harnesses and lifelines for work at height • Take gas readings with a multi-gas detector before confined-space entry • Run fire drills and check extinguishers, hydrants and alarm points • Run the permit-to-work system for hot work and confined-space entry • Carry out toolbox talks with the crew before each shift • Ensure MSDS/SDS sheets are on hand for every chemical on site Part-time with flexible hours.
