Urgent requirement: we are hiring a cement mason in Saline County, Illinois. The job is at a ready-mix concrete plant. Ideal candidate: • Willing to wear safety boots, helmet and full PPE • Able to work to tight pour schedules and night pours The role involves: • Carry out slump tests and cast cubes for the lab • Fix and tie reinforcement bars and mesh as per the bar bending schedule • Patch honeycombs and tie-rod holes with non-shrink grout • Cut control and expansion joints at the correct spacing • Set out levels with a spirit level, line and pins • Strip and clean formwork once the concrete has gained strength Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough.
