Now hiring: we are hiring a ladle pourer in Tyler County, West Virginia. You will be based at a busy iron foundry. You should have: • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling Day to day you will make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities; cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch; prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity. 4+ years on the tools preferred.
