Now hiring: we are hiring a steel fixer in Norton County, Kansas. You will work on a civil engineering bridge and roads site. On a typical shift you will tie bar intersections with binding wire using a tie hook or pliers; install chairs and bar supports to hold up the top mat; fit mechanical couplers where shown on the drawings; bend bars to shape on a bar bending machine; check bar diameter, spacing and cover before the pour; lap and splice bars to the specified lap length. What we are looking for: • Sound knowledge of lap lengths, cover and bar spacing • Confident tying with a tie hook and handling binding wire At least 4 year(s) in a similar role. $130 per day, negotiable for the right hands. Meals and transport allowance provided. Six days a week, one day off. Walk-in interviews this week.
