The role involves weld thin stainless steel sheet without burning through; feed filler rod by hand while holding a steady weld pool; back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise; select AC for aluminium and DC for stainless and mild steel; set the argon flow on the flowmeter and check the hose for leaks. Ideal candidate: • Able to TIG weld stainless steel and aluminium to a neat standard • Able to pass a weld test on the spot 4+ years on the tools preferred. Meals and transport allowance provided.
