Join our team: we are hiring a sand plant operator in City of Colonial Heights, Virginia. You will work in the melting bay of a steel foundry. Ideal candidate: • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal Day-to-day duties: • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities Part-time with flexible hours.
