Argon welder — Somerset

Vacancy available: we are hiring an argon welder in Somerset, England. Requirements: • Own basic hand tools and PPE • Able to weld thin-gauge sheet without burn-through • Able to read isometric and fabrication drawings Your main tasks: • Inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion • Set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator • Back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring) • Run root passes and fill passes on pipe joints • Prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run • Strike and hold a stable arc with a non-consumable tungsten electrode At least 4 year(s) in a similar role. Pay around £2,050 per month, based on your experience. Meals and transport allowance provided. Six days a week, one day off. Contact us to fix an interview.
