Now hiring: we are hiring a hand presser in City of Newport News, Virginia. The job is in a garment export house. Ideal candidate: • 1-2 years' experience pressing garments in a factory • Physically fit to lift bundles and handle repetitive work • Sound knowledge of fabric types and correct heat settings On a typical shift you will check every piece for scorch marks, shine and water spots; hang or fold pressed garments and pass them to packing; operate the steam press and vacuum table to finish garments; spray water or starch to set sharp creases on trousers and shirts; fuse interlinings and fusible tape on the fusing press; give each garment a final press before packing. Part-time with flexible hours. Walk-in interviews this week.
