Urgent requirement: we are hiring a cake decorator in McDowell County, West Virginia. You will be based in a hotel pastry kitchen. What we are looking for: • Able to lift 25 kg flour sacks • Understanding of food-safety and HACCP basics • Able to stand for long hours in a hot kitchen The role involves: • Score the top of loaves before baking • Proof and fry doughnuts, then glaze them • Weigh and mix flour, yeast, water and salt to the day's recipe • Load and unload the deck oven with a peel • Prove dough in the proofer at the right temperature and humidity • Monitor oven temperature and baking time for each batch Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough.
