Argon arc welder — Yakutat City and Borough

Vacancy available: we are hiring an argon arc welder in Yakutat City and Borough, Alaska. The job is on a structural steel site. You should have: • ITI or trade certificate in welding an advantage • Can read fabrication drawings and welding symbols On a typical shift you will tack weld parts to hold the fit-up before the final run; TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer; select AC for aluminium and DC for stainless and mild steel; clean joints with acetone and a dedicated stainless wire brush; inspect welds visually for porosity, cracks and undercut. 2+ years on the tools preferred.
