Day to day you will rig and lift structural steel, precast panels and machinery into position; guide loads through tight openings into their final position; take part in toolbox talks and pre-lift briefings; direct the crane operator with standard hand signals and radio; read lift plans and method statements before starting. You should have: • Valid rigging / lifting certificate or banksman-slinger ticket • Able to inspect and reject defective lifting gear • Sharp eye for safety and hazard awareness Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
