Immediate opening: we are hiring a stainless steel welder in Lincoln County, Colorado. You will be based in a sheet-metal fabrication unit. Ideal candidate: • Can read fabrication drawings and welding symbols • Able to TIG weld stainless steel and aluminium to a neat standard • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection On the job you will handle: • Tack weld parts to hold the fit-up before the final run • Keep the arc length and travel speed consistent • Feed filler rod by hand while holding a steady weld pool • Strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal • Set the argon flow on the flowmeter and check the hose for leaks • Clean joints with acetone and a dedicated stainless wire brush Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough.
