Now hiring: we are hiring an argon welder in Price County, Wisconsin. You will be based in a sheet-metal fabrication unit. Requirements: • Able to pass a weld test on the spot • Comfortable working off scaffolds and in tight spaces The role involves: • Clean joints with acetone and a dedicated stainless wire brush • Back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise • Strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal • Run butt, fillet, lap and corner joints to spec • Read welding symbols and joint details off the fabrication drawing • Tack weld parts to hold the fit-up before the final run At least 3 year(s) in a similar role.
