Join our team: we are hiring a moulder in City of Portsmouth, Virginia. The job is in the fettling and dressing shop. On the job you will handle: • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring Ideal candidate: • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal Meals and transport allowance provided.
