Vacancy available: we are hiring a fettler in Lucas County, Iowa. You should have: • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling Your main tasks: • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring Full-time with occasional weekends. Walk-in interviews this week.
