Argon welding operator • South Central Connecticut Planning Region, Connecticut

We are recruiting: we are hiring an argon welding operator in South Central Connecticut Planning Region, Connecticut. You will be based in a stainless steel kitchen-equipment unit. On the job you will handle: • Strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal • Weld thin stainless steel sheet without burning through • Select AC for aluminium and DC for stainless and mild steel • Grind, blend and polish finished welds to a clean finish • Inspect welds visually for porosity, cracks and undercut • Tack weld parts to hold the fit-up before the final run Requirements: • 2+ years' hands-on experience with argon/TIG welding • Comfortable working off scaffolds and in tight spaces • Steady hand and good hand-eye coordination 5+ years on the tools preferred.
