Aluminium tig welder — Angus

Join our team: we are hiring an aluminium tig welder in Angus, Scotland. The job is in a pipe-spool fabrication yard. What we are looking for: • Proven experience with TIG/GTAW on stainless and aluminium • Able to weld thin-gauge sheet without burn-through • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day Day to day you will prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run; control heat input so thin sheet does not warp; set the amperage on the machine and modulate the current with the foot pedal; select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job; strike and hold a stable arc with a non-consumable tungsten electrode; back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring). Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough. Full-time, day shift. £2,100 per month, negotiable for the right hands. Contact us to fix an interview.
