Now hiring: we are hiring a shakeout operator in Saint Landry Parish, Louisiana. What we are looking for: • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding Day-to-day duties: • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities $3,500 per project, negotiable for the right hands.
