Now hiring: MIG welder (Alaska)

Immediate opening: we are hiring a MIG welder in Kenai Peninsula Borough, Alaska. You will work in a heavy engineering unit. Ideal candidate: • Knowledge of short-circuit and spray-transfer modes • Comfortable welding mild steel, stainless and aluminium • Able to grind, fit-up and tack independently You will grind back and re-weld any defective runs; read fabrication drawings and weld symbols; tack components to the jig and check the fit-up against the drawing; weld in flat, horizontal and vertical-up positions; change worn contact tips and gas nozzles on the torch; bevel and grind the joint edges clean before welding. Full-time, day shift. Walk-in interviews this week.
