Trowel-trade bricklayer — City of Martinsville

Join our team: we are hiring a trowel-trade bricklayer in City of Martinsville, Virginia. The job is at a groundworks and structures site. You will raking out and tooling the joints to a struck or bucket-handle finish; buttering the perpends and tapping each brick down to the gauge; cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder; pointing and repointing weathered mortar joints; brushing the wall down and removing mortar snots as you go; forming arches, piers and reveals around openings. Ideal candidate: • Comfortable working at height on scaffolding • CSCS card or willingness to obtain one • Proven experience laying facing and engineering bricks Pay around $230 per day, based on your experience.
