You should have: • Able to read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules • Aware of concrete cover and tolerance requirements Your main tasks: • Set out starter bars and column dowels for the next lift • Check bar diameter, spacing and cover before the pour • Keep the rebar stacked, tagged and free of mud and loose rust • Install chairs and bar supports to hold up the top mat • Form stirrups, links and hooks to the correct dimensions Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
