Tailor machinist wanted in Saint Clair County

Now hiring: we are hiring a tailor machinist in Saint Clair County, Illinois. The job is at a knitwear stitching unit. What we are looking for: • Understands fabric types and how to handle knits versus wovens • Good eyesight and steady hands for fine, accurate stitching Day-to-day duties: • Inspect each piece for skipped stitches, broken thread and needle holes • Keep an even stitch density (SPI) and a straight, consistent seam line • Trim loose threads, clip curves and notch corners as you go • Meet the hourly piece-rate target without dropping quality • Thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension • Attach collars, cuffs, plackets, pockets and waistbands as per the spec sheet We offer $4,300 per month plus benefits.
