You should have: • Comfortable handling refrigerant gases and gauge manifolds • Physically fit to lift compressors and carry ladders The role involves: • Check superheat and subcooling and trim the charge • Fault-find control boards and defrost timers • Clean condenser and evaporator coils • Braze copper pipework and joints with an oxy-acetylene torch • Recover refrigerant gas before opening a sealed system • Check oil level and top up or change the compressor oil Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough.
