Great opportunity: we are hiring a ladle pourer in City of Buena Vista, Virginia. You will be based in a non-ferrous casting shop. You should have: • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts Day-to-day duties: • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes At least 5 year(s) in a similar role.
