Tree and shrub pruner wanted in Pike County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a tree and shrub pruner in Pike County, Alabama. You will be based in a botanical garden. The role involves: • Sharpen, clean and oil hand tools and mower blades • Operate strimmers, leaf blowers and brush cutters • Maintain compost heaps and the potting shed • Spray pesticides and fungicides to control pests and disease • Prune hedges, shrubs and ornamental trees with secateurs and hedge trimmers • Dig over and turn the soil and prepare seedbeds What we are looking for: • Previous experience as a gardener or in grounds maintenance • Able to safely operate mowers, strimmers and hedge trimmers • An eye for detail and a tidy, well-kept finish Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough.
