Ideal candidate: • Aware of concrete cover and tolerance requirements • Proven experience as a steel fixer on building or civil sites On a typical shift you will check bar diameter, spacing and cover before the pour; lay and tie mesh for slabs and ground-bearing floors; assemble column and beam cages on the bench; bend bars to shape on a bar bending machine; install chairs and bar supports to hold up the top mat; tie bar intersections with binding wire using a tie hook or pliers.
