Now hiring: we are hiring a banksman in Tioga County, New York. You will work in a steel fabrication yard. On a typical shift you will take part in toolbox talks and pre-lift briefings; carry out daily checks on cranes, hoists and lifting tackle; rig and lift structural steel, precast panels and machinery into position; coordinate tandem and multi-crane lifts with the signaller; calculate load weight and centre of gravity before every lift; guide loads through tight openings into their final position. You should have: • Sharp eye for safety and hazard awareness • Able to inspect and reject defective lifting gear 5+ years on the tools preferred. Full-time with occasional weekends.
