You should have: • Steady hand for filler work and block sanding • 2+ years' experience as a panel beater or in a body shop Your main tasks: • Shrink stretched and oil-canned metal with a shrinking hammer • Feather-edge old paint and prime bare metal before respray • Read insurance damage reports and assessor estimates • Replace damaged doors, wings, bonnets and bumpers • Mix and spread body filler, then block-sand to a smooth contour • Treat rust, apply seam sealer and underbody protection Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough.
